A sad beginning

Deacon and Duke started life bred for veterinary technician training. For most of their lives they were used for practicing anesthesia and injections, until they found their way to a rescue.

There, they stayed in their cage while all sorts of dogs, cats, rabbits and other sorts of beasts walked around, poked their heads and tongues through the bars of the cage and said hello.

As their new friends got adopted out, Deacon and Duke stayed behind hoping for a forever home, and that's when I found them. Within five minutes of hand feeding them oats, I fell in love, and after two visits that week, I took them home to a bigger cage, a bevy of toys, and two comfy hammocks for them to play in.

This is their story.
