PeTA posts mice and rat video.

Mom wouldn't let us watch this, but she gave us extra scritches after she saw it.

Yogies! Yummmm!

Last night we discovered our new favoritest treats! Yogies. This yogurt yum yums came highly recommended but mom thought since we were so picky we wouldn't like them. Guess what? We did!

Mom also found a scratch on me last night, hopefully it's nothing serious. Probably an old battlewound from Duke.

Anyway, life is good and more and more hammocks are pouring in. Mom is examining them to see if she and her mom could make some to sell and raise money for the wedding in October.

As long as we reap the benefits, I don't care what she does. We love us some hammies.

Peace, Deacon.

Bonding with the Big Man

So don't get me wrong, we love our mom. She's the one who saved us after all, but you've got to admit, sometimes dads are just more fun. A boy's gotta have his dad right? Anyway, mom, don't be offended, but here are some pics of me hanging out with dad on Duke and my favorite spot.

OMG! Hammocks!

So... Mom bought us these things called hammocks. And, for a few days they were just sitting in our cage, blocking our view. But last night, we tried out this pocket hammock for the first time. And it was amazing. So warm and cuddly. She bought a tube and a hide and peek hammock from Rattie World O' Comfort, and at first, we started running through the tube, but we wouldn't sleep in any of them.

That is, until mom bought us Quaker Oatmeal Squares last night and put one in the hammock. When she woke up, I was hiding completely inside. And when she came home from work, Duke and I were both there. Squee!

Look at how passed out Duke looks in the pic above. Hi-Larious! I was more awake, I swear.

The best part is that mom says there are more on the way. She also ordered a Tunnel, Flat Hammock, Rope, Corner Hammock and Cube from some wonderful people on GooseMoose! I cannot wait to try those out now that I know what these are for.

Peace,
Deacon.

(From MB: This was so amazingly cute. I was worried after I placed all these orders that they wouldn't use them, because they didn't even look at them for two days. But this was such a good feeling to see these two boys who have had such a tough life enjoying these)

Blankets Are Done

From Mary Beth:
Well the blankets are all done. None of the hammocks or toys I've ordered have shown up yet. But the boys are loving it, and they are way sweeter now that they know we are going to pamper them. Deacon even let me hold him and put him on my shoulder, and Duke lets Kyle hold him at anytime now. From the reaction of the boys to the fleece, they are going to love everything I've ordered. I am so excited to give it to them!

Comfin' it up

Mom has decided to go on a mission of craftiness and make our cage SUPER comfy this weekend. She started last night with a test strip, and then completed one whole blanket while watching a movie. It only took about an hour, and then we had a comfy.... thing, for my favorite spot in the cage--- The very top!

She did it by following the steps for a double knot blanket, which requires no sewing, but she made it smaller. This one just turned out to be the perfect size, because she used all of the one remnant she bought. Now, if she could only remember the measurements for that one, the whole project would be a lot easier.

This one has monster trucks on it, but she also picked up remnants at the fabric store with polka dots and stars. And the hammocks she ordered for us have Shamrocks on them, so it will be a crazy fun cage by the end of the weekend.

I hope she finishes soon, because I cannot wait for more of this awesomeness.

Thanks mom!

Deacon

Getting adjusted

We're doing great! We've both been out and handled and guess what?? It wasn't that bad. The cage is good, though it needed some adjusting. But we've come close to getting it how we want it.

Mom says there are more things for the cage on the way, so I am excited to see, but we finally figured out this wheel thing, and it's fun, even though it some times gets in the way of where we want to go, but it's kind of fun to create an obstacle course.

Here's some pics of us enjoying the cage and greeting mommy.

And we're getting along with everyone great now, but our best friend is Luna. She'll sit with us for hours.

Peace (at last),
Deacon
